Nestled on a plateau in the hills of Glenbervie, fifteen minutes drive from Whangarei, is Totara Park Stud.

A more picturesque nursery for thoroughbred foals and yearlings would be hard to find anywhere, with it's beautiful rock walls, extensive post and rail fencing, green pastures and Northland sunshine.

The team running the stud prides itself on being a very 'hands on' family. They have had, collectively, over 70 very successful years in the industry.

Les Donaldson and his daughter and son-in-law, Nicci and Dirk Oberholster, are the owner/operators at Totara Park Stud.

Les and Dirk have extensive knowledge in all facets of the industry, especially pedigrees and families.

Dirk spends his mornings at the barn in the breeding season, keeping up with what stage each mare is at.

Nicci oversees all operations involving the young horses, from foaling to weaning to yearling preparation, and prides herself on personal care and attention to detail for every youngster on the property.

Totara Park enlists the professional services of Dr David Cairns BVSc, highly regarded local vet. David has extensive knowledge and experience with all procedures and information relating to the breeding and racing game.
